ST. LOUIS—McCarthy Holdings, Inc., anemployee-owned national commercial builder, has just signed aletter of intent to acquire St. Louis-based CastleContracting along with its subsidiaryCastleGPS. The new acquisitions provide civilservices, utilities, earthwork and trenchless technology directlyto owners and contractors, as well as GPS technology for subsurface3-D utility mapping.

“Civil and infrastructure needs in our communities continue togrow,” said McCarthy central division president ScottWittkop. “Our clients are asking for effective ways toapproach these challenges. The specialized expertise of CastleContracting and CastleGPS will bring critical value-added servicesunder the McCarthy umbrella to improve client results.”

The St. Louis-based McCarthy specializes in the construction ofhealthcare facilities, among other building types. As reported inGlobeSt.com, for example, McCarthy was hired to replace the Joplin, MO hospital destroyed by a deadlytornado with the $335 million, 875,000-square-foot MercyHospital Joplin. In addition, earlier this year it brokeground on a $37 million expansion project for CapitalRegion Medical Center, an affiliate of theUniversity of Missouri Healthcare System.
