LOS ANGELES—Regency Centers completesconstruction of the $21 million Juanita TateMarketplace, a 77,096-square-foot outdoor shopping centerdesigned by Nadel Architects. The property hasthree buildings with two anchor tenants, NorthgateMarket and CVS/pharmacy, whichcollectively lease 57,076 square feet.
According to Regency Centers regional officer and VP ofinvestments John Mehigan, Nadel designed theproperty to be both attractive and functional for the long term.The property has three buildings; the larger, 45,500-square-footbuilding is occupied in full by Northgate Market, while the smaller14,576-square-foot building is occupied by CVS/pharmacy. Theremaining 20,000-square-foot building has space for up to 12tenants, currently occupied by seven national and regional tenants.Mehigan explains that the unique design and the high-trafficlocation help to attract the tenants.
The property broke ground in October of last year. NorthgateMarket, CVS, Starbucks and PandaExpress had already signed lease agreements at the centerprior to the ground breaking. The finished center emphasizeswalkability and has unique, artistic details, like metal awningsand brick, tile and plaster walls. It also features an artinstallation by Heath Satow of three 25-foot-tallmetal dandelions.
