SEATTLE—U.S. Bank has promoted regional manager Cathy Danigelis to lead the Northern California offices of its affordable housing lending group, U.S. Bank Community Lending Division. Previously regional manager for the Pacific Northwest, she now directly oversees its offices in San Francisco and Sacramento, CA in addition to Portland, OR. and Seattle.
Based in Seattle, Danigelis reports to Kyle Hansen, executive vice president and head of US Bank Community Lending Division.
“We're pleased to announce Cathy's promotion. Under her leadership, we've aligned our teams in several markets that have significant need and potential for multifamily housing development,” said Hansen. “Historically low vacancy rates and increasing rents continue to drive demand for affordable housing in metro areas throughout Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.”
U.S. Bank Community Lending Division, part of U.S. Bank Commercial Real Estate, provides financing to both for-profit and non-profit developers for the construction, rehabilitation and acquisition of rental housing for low- and moderate income individuals and families. One of the nation's top lenders in this space, the group originated nearly $1.1 billion last year in loans to support the development of affordable housing across the country.
Notable recent affordable housing projects funded by U.S. Bank in this region include Mural Apartments at the MacArthur BART Station in Oakland and Arbor Creek Senior Apartments in Sacramento.
“We're proud to have funded a number of high-profile affordable housing projects in recent years, and look forward to continuing to build relationships and grow our client base throughout Northern California and the Pacific Northwest in the years to come,” said Danigelis.
Danigelis has more than two decades of experience in the real estate finance industry and has been with U.S. Bank since 2011. Prior to joining U.S. Bank, she led a consulting firm and held previous positions with Bank of America and California Bank and Trust. She holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.
