ROCKVILLE, MD—BioMed Realty Trust has signed a full-building lease with GlycoMimetics at the Center for Life Science | Shady Grove here. The building, located at 9708 Medical Center Dr., will serve as the company's new corporate headquarters. The lease is for 33,800 square feet.
The Center for Life Science | Shady Grove is a four building campus with approximately 214,700 square feet or laboratory and office space. One reason the company opted for the space was BioMed Realty's "transformation of the site" said Rachel K. King, CEO of GlycoMimetics, in a prepared statement. The location was also a chief factor. "The campus is ideally located for us in the hub of life science innovation in Montgomery County," she says.
BioMed Realty acquired the four buildings which now comprise the Center for Life Science | Shady Grove in May 2010 and began redeveloping three of the buildings in mid-2011. They delivered in early 2013.
