IRVINE, CA—Kevin Johnson, retired Juniper Networks CEO and former Microsoft executive, has joined Johnson has served as director on the board of Starbucks Coffee Co. since 2009 and has held board positions with non-profit organizations focusing on technology and women's career advancement. He retired from Juniper Networks in January, having served as the company's CEO and a member of the board of directors for more than five years. During his tenure at Juniper, revenue grew from $2.8 billion in 2007 to $4.6 billion in 2013 through innovative products and a more-diversified customer base. Prior to Johnson's work at Juniper, Johnson held a range of executive positions at Microsoft Corp., including group VP of worldwide sales, marketing and services, and eventually serving as president of the company's platforms division, where he was responsible for the Windows and online-services businesses. In 2008, he was appointed by President George W. Bush to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, where he served both Presidents Bush and Barack Obama through 2013.
