SENDAI, Japan—Prologis has signed a build-to-suit agreement for a 281,400 square foot (26,100 square meter) logistics facility here.
The lessee was not identified.
The facility will be located at Prologis Park Sendai Izumi Center and will serve as the regional distribution center for a major third-party logistics provider in Japan.
"Demand for modern, well-located facilities in our global and regional markets remains strong as companies look to optimize their distribution networks," said Mike Yamada, president, Prologis Japan. "We are well-positioned to meet these needs by providing modern, class-A logistics facilities."
Prologis is a leading provider of industrial real estate in Japan, with approximately 33.4 million square feet (3.1 million square meters) of logistics and distribution space as of June 30, 2014.
