LOS ANGELES—At the age of 61, Joshua WalterLeonard, a senior partner at Deloitte anda pioneer in Los Angeles' leasing advisoryplatform, passed away peacefully at Cedars-SinaiHospital after battling lymphatic cancer. Leonard issurvived by his wife, Linda, his mother, Bertha, and his siblings,Barney and Rachel, and his colleagues, clients and those he taughtand mentored will miss him.

Leonard made a significant contribution to the commercial realestate industry, establishing and leading the leasing advisorypractice for Deloitte for 17 years. In that time, he developedlease audit techniques for corporate tenants, andhe authored and ran a copyrighted lease auditing training program,which was offered throughout the country. Leonard began his storiedcareer at Price Waterhouse and GettyOil, which eventually led to senior management positionswith Maguire Thomas Partners, LeaseholdTechnology Group and Grubb andEllis.

Born in Philadelphia, Leonard earned a Bachelor of Science inpublic accounting at Ithaca College in 1975 andreceived his CPA license in 1977. Following in his father andgrandfather's footsteps, he dedicated his career to public financeand accounting. In his personal life, Josh was an avid squashplayer, golfer and dedicated husband to his wife Linda.
