JERSEY CITY, NJ—Poskanzer Skott Architectsrecently completed the design of childcare provider RiverSchool's newest location at 256 WarrenStreet in Jersey City. According to BarryPoskanzer, AIA, one of the best parts of the project wasthe ability to exercise a sense of youthful creativity to producean environment that promotes learning, comfort and fun.
“Developing inviting, nurturing environments foryoung children allows for more inventiveness and artistic freedomthan many other types of projects,” saysPoskanzer. “In the case of RiverSchool, our underlying theme involved simple lines, withclean neutrals and punches of bright, primary colors.”PSA designed five classrooms, indoor play areas,an administrative office, kitchen and storage in the5,500-square-foot area.
The newly opened Warren Street location is gearedspecifically to infants and toddlers. RichardKresch, River School's sponsor, saysPSA's understanding of both the needs of youngchildren and childcare regulatory requirements in the State of NewJersey made the firm a logical choice to design the new facility.
