WINTER HAVEN, FL—Commercial and residential developerSix/Ten LLC reports it has acquired more than twodozen properties in downtown Winter Haven and is now undertaking amodernization program on those parcels.

The firm says the modernization effort is to recapture thebuilding's original architecture as well as add new technologiesand amenities in order to attract new business to its propertiesand the downtown.

“Six/Ten is catapulting the revitalization into reality bycreating desirable, contemporary workspace environments and retaildestinations,” says Kerry Wilson, presidentSix/Ten LLC.

The company is supporting the efforts of local groups, such asMain Street Winter Haven and the WinterHaven Economic Development Council, to bring people andbusinesses back to the city's original hub just south of LakeSilver. This effort includes the historic Beymer Building, whichhas been fully rehabilitated into Class A office space and is fullyoccupied.

Other unique properties include the site of the original Publixmarket, an arcade building from 1928 that now houses an artisanalcheese shop, and a multifamily rental community designed bymodernist architect Max Strang.

“We are creating a synergy of office, retail and residentialofferings,” Wilson says “Tenants enjoy the pedestrian-friendlyenvironment of downtown Winter Haven, and they also want to be apart of its revitalization.”

Six/Ten is also investing in technology, having purchased andremodeled two former telecommunication towers with state-of-the-artfiber connections. The buildings have direct connections to morethan five high-speed Internet providers, including Level 3 andVerizon, which owns portions of the company's Inland Fiber &Data Park.

The modernization effort is attracting medical and professionalpractices, along with restaurants, retailers and people seeking anurban lifestyle in a small-town setting, Six/Ten states. Thecompany's multi-year plan calls for continued investment indowntown properties and technology as well as attracting newcompanies and residents to the area.

Six/Ten LLC is a developer of commercial and residentialproperties in Winter Haven and other Florida cities, and aninvestor in Big Data software and related technologies. The companyowns and manages more than 450,000 square feet of commercialproperty. Its holdings include three dozen properties, acyber-security company, and an investment in Florida's largestorganic blueberry operation.
