SEATTLE—Commercial real estate veteran, JoeMalaspino, has been named director of engineering inKidder Mathews' property management division. AsDirector of Engineering, Malaspino will lead, organize, and manageKidder Mathews' building engineering business, includingsustainability practices, throughout the firm's West Coastproperties. He will oversee 43 building engineerswho provide services to the firm's portfolio of 30 million squarefeet.

"This is a new position, created to lead and grow KidderMathews' already robust building engineering business,” saidKeith Kaiser, Kidder Mathews' executive vicepresident, property management services. “The Director ofEngineering will be a resource to and advocate for our engineeringteams, further develop our capabilities, and contribute greatly toour client and tenant relationships," said Kaiser.

Malaspino holds the designations of FMA and RPA and brings17 years of experience in commercial real estate buildingoperations. His background includes work as general manager forTranswestern, account executive atSiemens, general manager at CBRE,chief engineer with Trammell Crow/CBRE, andengineering manager for the Westin BuildingExchange.
