KANSAS CITY— Value Place, the extended-stay hotel chain, has spent all of 2014 expanding its brand throughout the US, opening both corporate-owned and franchise outlets. And it just opened a newly constructed hotel in Kansas City, MO at 8805 Leeds Rd., near the intersection of I-70 and Stadium Dr. This is the brand's sixth hotel in Missouri, joining Value Place hotels in Springfield, St. Louis, and several other Kansas City locations. The four-story, 124-room hotel opened on October 17, 2014 and the company plans to hold a ribbon-cutting event tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“Kansas City is showing tremendous promise in terms of economic recovery and job growth,” says Kyle Rogg, president and chief operating officer at Value Place. “There are a number of major headquarters established there, as well as local branches of Fortune 1,000 companies, both of which continue to drive demand for affordable and extended-stay lodging. Value Place's economy extended-stay offering is the solution for this previously underserved hotel segment.”
As reported in GlobeSt.com, the local economy has taken off. Ever since Ford and GM decided to double down on their commitments to the metro region, for example, the industrial real estate market has shown tremendous strength. In the third quarter companies absorbed space at a pace not seen in years, and the vacancy rates continued to fall. Furthermore, experts from Cassidy Turley expect the gradually improving economy will steadily push down the office vacancy rate and simultaneously push up rents, especially for class A offices.
Value Place now has nearly 190 hotels open in 32 states and plans to keep expanding across the US. Over the next three years, company officials say they plan to acquire land to build corporate and franchised properties in many markets including Miami, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland.
