HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ—Construction has begun onAlbertson Village, a new 82-unit luxuryapartment-rental project being developed by WaltersGroup. The community is in the Westmont section of HaddonTownship in Camden County.
Site improvements got underway earlier this year onAlbertson Village, which is being built toLEED-certified levels. The residential project is rising on thesite of the former Russell Cast Stone cementfactory. Located on West Albertson Ave. just offHaddon Ave., the property sat vacant for more than 10 years.The Walters Group, owner of the property, is usingenvironmentally friendly “green” technologies in the constructionof the new buildings. When completed, AlbertsonVillage will offer one- and two-bedroom residences, withoptional loft spaces and upgraded interiors. In addition, theproject will include an affordable component consisting of eightunits.
“We are pleased to be moving forward on this project. Aftersitting idle for many years, this parcel of land was in need ofredevelopment,” says Ed Walters, Jr., founder andpartner of Walters Group.
