CHICAGO—Hyatt Hotels Corp. has announcedthat a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement withSongy HighRoads, a commercial real estatedevelopment firm based in Atlanta, to develop the HyattRegency Houston Galleria. The hotel will be managed byAimbridge Hospitality and is scheduled to opennext fall.

“The Hyatt name is synonymous with excellence in hospitality andis among the world's most recognizable brands,” DavidSongy, Chief Executive Officer of Songy HighRoads,told GlobeSt.com. “This franchise agreement continues the momentumof Galleria Place and our urban mixed-use vision for thishigh-profile block. Over the next year, this former office andretail park will evolve into a vibrant stay-work-play destinationand a gateway to the Galleria.”

Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria is being built near the HoustonGalleria shopping mall at 2626 Sage Road, on the northwest cornerof Sage Road and West Alabama Street. It is part of the 7.6-acre,mixed use development, Galleria Plaza, whichincludes a Whole Foods Market, high-end retail andspecialty stores, luxury apartments and recently completed officetowers. The 325-room, 14-story hotel will feature more than 12,000square feet of meeting and conference space as well as a largefitness center overlooking a pool deck.
