FORT WORTH–BOKA Powell, an architecture, planning and interior design firm, has hired Mark H. Dabney to lead its growing Fort Worth practice.
“Mark's deep roots in Fort Worth, his history and connectivity with the community, were very important to us,” Don Powell, principal of BOKA Powell, told GlobeSt.com. “The firm leadership is in close philosophical alignment with Mark's aspirations, and we are of like mind with his professional goals.”
A lifelong Fort Worth resident, Dabney brings more than 25 years of architecture and interior design experience to his new role as associate principal. His expertise includes notable projects like Tarrant County College District's Trinity River East Campus, the Museum of Living Art at the Fort Worth Zoo, Phases II and III of the West 7th Development and Sundance Square Plaza.
BOKA Powell's current Fort Worth projects include the JPS Health Network's Cath Lab expansion, Alliance Town Center Office North and the renovation of the Hunter Plaza urban apartments.
Dabney most recently served as director of PBK's Fort Worth office. He is president of the Leadership Fort Worth board of directors, and is a past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Recognized for his outstanding leadership skills and professionalism, Dabney is the 2004 recipient of the Texas Society of Architects' William Caudill Award for Young Professional Achievement and the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Architects 1998 Young Professional of the Year. Dabney earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from Texas Tech University.
As for BOKA's Fort Worth growth, Powell is optimistic.
“We anticipate the Fort Worth office will grow quickly given the activity there, which will accelerate,” he says. “Within a few months, we anticipate an office that will provide the full range of services, from conceptual design through construction administration.”
