PORTLAND, OR—CBRE Portland has completed theproject management assignment to oversee the relocation ofPuppet Labs from their prior Pearl Districtlocation to downtown's “Block 300” building at 308SW 2nd Avenue. Puppet Labs, an IT automation software specialist,commenced operations at their new location last week.

Earlier this year, CBRE Portland's team won thecompetitive bid to manage the nine-month longproject that entailed oversight of the end-to-endprocess. The team worked closely with the architect, landlord andcontractor, and managed the tenant improvement budget along withco-ordination of third party services from the furniture, lighting,kitchen, audio-visual and technology services providercommunity.

Puppet Labs new global headquarters retains key aspects of theirunique culture while incorporating innovative design andcollaboration elements. The overall floor design is based on apinwheel layout enabling unique line of sight tothe window line from almost anywhere. Two new uniqueconnecting stairwells were cut in between floors. Almost90% of existing furniture was re-used. The newspace, with raised floors and exposed ceilings, incorporates over60 colors with a unique way-finding scheme designed by employees.The dynamic needs for acoustical privacy and collaboration areserved by a multitude of lounges and work and surfaces with over50 conference rooms. Open, collaborative spacesoften suffer from noise issues, and in advance recognition of thispossibility, almost 40,000 square feet of acoustical dampingmaterials were used in the walls and ceilings.
