Colony American Finance provides financing lines and loans for the acquisition of investor-owned single-family homes and rental portfolios. According to Colony president Beth O'Brien, the acquisition was a strategic move that will help in strengthening the company's relationship with Auction.com, which owns $26 billion in residential and commercial assets. Auction.com CEO Jeff Freiden echoed the sentiment, saying that the company “expect[s] to do a lot more together across the platform.”

Archetype Opportunity Fund's employees will join Colony American Finance. GlobeSt.com was unable to secure a comment from either party prior to the publication of this story. We will update the story with more information as it becomes available.

This is the second time the company has made headlines this month. Earlier, GlobeSt.com reported that the company's affiliate Colony Capital LLC and Colony Financial agreed to combine in a deal that is worth $675 million. Thomas Barrack and CEO Richard Saltzman would lead the combined company, Colony Capital Inc.
