SANTA MONICA, CA—Colony American Finance has purchased a $165 million portfolio of acquisition lines secured by single-family homes from Archetype Credit Opportunity Fund, a private money lender backed by the founders of Colony American Finance provides financing lines and loans for the acquisition of investor-owned single-family homes and rental portfolios. According to Colony president Beth O'Brien, the acquisition was a strategic move that will help in strengthening the company's relationship with Auction.com, which owns $26 billion in residential and commercial assets. Auction.com CEO Jeff Freiden echoed the sentiment, saying that the company “expect[s] to do a lot more together across the platform.” Archetype Opportunity Fund's employees will join Colony American Finance.
