ODESSA, Tex.–The Woodmont Co. has signed five new tenants to leases at Chimney Rock Shopping Center, a regional power center in Odessa, Texas.

The leases total 48,100 square feet and include Northern Tool+Equipment (18,000 square feet), Petco (13,500 square feet), Lone Star ER (8,500 square feet), Mattress Firm (5,500 square feet) and Firehouse Subs (2,600 square feet). These tenants will be joining other key national and regional tenants at the successful 340,000-square-foot center.

“Historically, the Texas retail market has performed well and should continue to improve even more in the years to come,” Trip Green, vice president of investment sales and  leasing at The Woodmont Co., told GlobeSt.com. “High income levels, low unemployment and year-over-year growth of the local economy is the reason Odessa is one of the most dynamic markets in Texas, if not nation.”

Northern Tool+Equipment and Firehouse Subs recently opened at the center. The buildings for Petco, Lone Star ER and Mattress Firm are beginning construction shortly and will be opening in early summer 2015.

On behalf of the Chimney Rock Shopping Center's ownership, Excel Trust, a publicly traded REIT, The Woodmont Co. serves as a development partner and construction manager. The firm also handles leasing and property management for the asset, which is led by Green.

“These new leases are further testimony to the appeal of the overall project and existing strong retail synergy of the co-tenant mix,” says Green. “What is also significant is that these five retailers are new to the Odessa market, indicating strength of this area now and in the years to come.”   

The five new leases bring Chimney Rock's occupancy to 90 percent. They will join Academy Sports+Outdoors, Marshalls, Best Buy, Jo-Ann Fabric & Crafts, ULTA Cosmetics, Kirkland's Home Decor and Dickey's BBQ, among others. Located at 6201 Texas 191 frontage, the asset is situated on 36 acres and is at the northeast corner of Loop 338 and Highway 191.
