MIAMI—Jason Katz has been promoted fromassociate to vice president with locally-based real estateinvestment and merchant banking firm Aztec GroupInc.

Company officials say Katz will focus on executing land salesand commercial real estate acquisitions across Florida,particularly in the South Florida market, and asset management ofreal estate investments on behalf of Aztec's investment affiliateMayan Properties.

Jason joined Aztec Group in 2012 as an associate. Since then hehas supported asset management of the Mayan's substantial officeand multifamily portfolios and worked with local, regional andnational multifamily developers, investors, and property owners togenerate sales and financing opportunities on behalf of Aztec.

Since joining the firm Katz has closed multiple landtransactions in Miami's Edgewater neighborhood and is currentlyworking on sales valued at more than $40 million in and around thecity's urban core.

Katz is actively involved in the Urban Land Institute. He helpedplan the organization's successful Leadership Exchange Program,which saw young real estate professionals from around the countrycome to Miami for two days. Most recently, he organized the ULIpanel event “Renaissance in the Grove: A Neighborhood Re-emerges”that was held at Park Grove.
