IRVINE, CA—GlobeSt.com has learned exclusively that real estate law firm Cox Castle & Nicholson has launched a blog to explore state and federal regulation of land use and development in California. Titled “Lay of the Land,” the blog will feature regular posts written by attorneys from the firm's Land Use & Natural Resources Practice.

Commentary and insights on the blog will include focus on topics including the California Environmental Quality Act, coastal development, entitlements, land-use litigation, renewable energy, endangered species, pending legislation and more. Cox Castle was recently named by US News and World Report in its nationwide ranks as the 2015 “Law Firm of the Year” in the area of Land Use & Zoning.

According to David Waite, land-use partner at the firm, “We are proud to be a leader in land-use law and excited to have the opportunity to share our expertise and perspectives in our new blog. 'Lay of the Land' provides an outstanding forum for our attorneys to weigh in on the dynamic topics that impact the development community.”

In addition, the blog will provide an opportunity to hear from the firm's attorneys who have been active in many of the most complex development proposals throughout California. Tim Paone, also a land-use partner with the firm, says, “On a daily basis, the expertise of our diverse practice group allows us to address regulatory issues with insight, creativity and result-focused strategies. Whether we're representing a developer, energy company, public institution or user of land, we try to simplify what others may find complex. The goal of our blog is to keep our clients, friends and colleagues informed of the critical issues that they may confront.”

Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Tim Paone on the land-use issues that developers and owners face today.
