DALLAS--Grant Thornton LLP has relocated its Dallas office within Comerica Bank Tower at 1717 Main St. to floors 17 and 18, from floors 14 and 15. The firm also continues to occupy part of floor 12. The total space leased is 60,560 square feet.
“We were looking for flexibility to rapidly grow our operations in the Dallas area, while promoting this new and more contemporary vision for our office,” Wally Gruenes, managing partner of Grant Thornton's Dallas practice, told GlobeSt.com. “Our expanded space affords us both of these options. The space is very attractive to our professionals and recruits with an extensive number of team rooms, many open collaboration sites and a fun environment conducive to team-building, which is consistent with our culture.”
This week, 400 Grant Thornton employees began work in the new office. To accommodate the growth of the firm's Dallas practice, the office was designed with a focus on better space utilization and reflects the firm's continued effort to reduce its carbon footprint -- incorporating a more efficient layout, access to natural light, increased multi-purpose space and more effective collaboration rooms.
“This move reinforces Grant Thornton's continued commitment to the firm's growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth region,” says Gruenes.
The new space is able to accommodate more than 500 employees. The office is seeking a minimum of LEED Silver certification.
Grant Thornton has been a tenant of Comerica Bank Tower for 15 years. The structure is one of the largest buildings in downtown Dallas.
The firm operates three additional Texas offices in Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
