HOUSTON--OliverMcMillan, the real estate development firm, has lured more than 20 high-end retailers to Houston's posh River Oaks District. Eighteen boutiques and five restaurants have signed agreements to operate locations in the anticipated shopping destination.
"From world-class brands with iconic storefronts to upscale dining and a luxury movie theater, River Oaks District will create a special, authentic experience in Houston like none other," Jeff Zeigler, senior managing director of retail services for OliverMcMillan, told GlobeSt.com. "As is the case in great worldwide cities, River Oaks District will combine each of these experiences in an open-air, pedestrian-friendly environment."
Joining Cartier, Dior, Equinox, Hermès, iPic and Tom Ford, announced earlier this year, the newest retailers that will call River Oaks District home include Akris, Anne Fontaine, BONOBOS, Brunello Cucinelli, Roberto Cavalli and INTERMIX. Restaurants include American Food + Beverage (AF+B), Taverna and Toulouse Café and Bar.
“We couldn't be happier with the newest retailers joining River Oaks District because they complement the development and the city so perfectly,” says Zeigler.
River Oaks District is a multi-use development on 14-plus acres located inside Loop 610. Fronting Westheimer Road, the development, currently under construction, will offer luxury shopping, dining, theater, office and residences, set to open in 2015. The 650,000-square-foot development is designed to complement the surrounding neighborhood and the greater Houston area with walkable, tree-lined streets and a plaza with a canopy of mature oak trees.
