KANSAS CITY, MO and CHARLOTTE, NC—Information and marketing solutions provider Xceligent Inc., headquartered in Kansas City, MO, has made a strategic investment into analytics firm Karnes Research Co. Terms were not disclosed.

Xceligent will leverage Charlotte, NC-based Karnes' analytics, in addition to 25-plus years' experience in the Carolinas, to both expand its coverage and further enhance its commercial real estate information platform. Xceligent says the relationship bolsters its ability to serve clients across the Carolinas, following last year's launch in the Raleigh-Durham, NC market.

Doug Curry, Xceligent's founder and CEO, calls Karnes “one of the industry's best and longest serving providers of analytics.” He adds that combining the two teams “creates a strong foundation for the expansion of our market analytics team and allows us to deliver best of breed information to the industry. Over the years, the Karnes professionals have established the reputation of being the best in the Carolinas market and we are excited to have them join Xceligent.”

At Karnes, managing partner Andrew Jenkins says his team was sold on Xceligent after meeting the group and witnessing their “relentless efforts to provide the most accurate and reliable market information. Now available in over 44 markets, Xceligent plans to expand into the 65 largest US markets by next year. Next up are launches in the Orlando and Houston markets, while working with Karnes' subscribers and their local real estate association partners to expand into the Carolinas markets. The firm already is the exclusive provider of CRE information to members of the National Association of Realtors.
