HOUSTON--Gaia Real Estate has exclusively told GlobeSt.com that it has sold Township Apartments, a residential community located northeast of Houston in Humble.

The 300-unit property was built in 1972 and is comprised of 41 residential buildings spread through 15 acres. The property is in a growing submarket of Houston close to George Bush Intercontinental Airport and the Greenspoint Business District.

After acquiring the property in January 2012, Gaia embarked on a value-add interior renovation program and updates of the amenities, including new roofs, exterior paint, and a redesigned fitness center, business center and pool.

“We are very pleased that we were able to turn around this property thanks to great execution by our property management company,” says Amir Yerushalmi, a Gaia managing partner. “This is another successful exit for Gaia with over 40 percent IRR on our investment.”

Gaia Real Estate manages a portfolio of $1.7 billion in real estate assets, including over 15,000 apartments and 600,000 square feet of office-space located throughout the U.S. The firm specializes in value-added transactions and is headquartered in New York City, with property management headquarters in Houston.
