HOUSTON--Westport, Conn.-based HK Group has negotiated the sale of an Aloft Hotel in Houston's Galleria submarket to Westpark I of Melville, N.Y. The seller was HEI Hotels and Resorts, who will continue to manage the 152-room hotel for the new owners.
The hotel, located at 5415 Westheimer Rd., is adjacent to an under-construction arts center and a block from the mall.
The Starwood-branded hotel chain currently has seven locations in Texas and is making a big push here, with nine more slated across the state in the next three years. Two more will go up in Houston -- downtown in 2016 and in the west part of the city in 2017.
HK Group is a full service commercial real estate firm started in 1988. Over the years, it has grown from overseeing local leasing to handling larger leasing transactions, investment sales transactions, national client retail leasing, and consulting and brokerage services for the health care and hospitality industries.
