LEESBURG, VA—The new headquarters for K2M Group Holdings has broken ground following the build-to-suit lease for 146,000-square feet the medical device company signed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Trammell Crow Co. and Keane Enterprises are developing the two-building complex, which will also serve as a research and development facility. The building is located on a 9.7-acre site in the Oaklawn master-planned community, which was developed by Keane Enterprise and TCC and where K2M will be a flagship tenant. Delivery and tenant occupancy is scheduled for early 2016.
The new headquarters will be comprised of a 62,000 square foot, three-story office building and an 84,000 square foot, one-story research & development building.
The deal was the result of "close coordination across numerous municipalities who dramatically compressed the project timeframe to accommodate an aggressive occupancy schedule," according to David Neuman, principal of TCC.
Last December, Virginia Governor McAuliffe announced the project and commitments from the Commonwealth, Loudoun County, the Town of Leesburg and Keane Enterprises.
