MIAMI—Three historic Miami Beach properties are about to see massive restoration. Architectural experts Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates (NBWW), internationally recognized for the restoration and redesign of many of Miami's most legendary properties, will restore and renovate Kimpton's The Angler's Hotel, The Fontainebleau Miami Beach' North Tower, and The Versailles, located in the new Faena District.

The renovation to Kimpton's The Angler's Hotel aims to complement the historic nature of the original 1930s structure and site, while offering a contemporary vision for decades to come. The hotel is located at 660 Washington Ave.

The NBWW team will expand the hotel's existing five-story, 45-room building with a new tower that will include a grand arrival lobby and lobby bar, exterior gathering areas, new landscaping, a 7,000 square-foot rooftop pool deck, 1,400 square-feet of meeting space, and 84 additional guest rooms. NBWW will also update the hotel's restaurant, 660 at The Angler's, to reflect the new vision for the property.

Originally designed in the 1950's by famed architect Morris Lapidus, The Fontainebleau Miami Beach underwent a $1 billion renovation and redevelopment that was completed in 2008. Now, NBWW is adding more dimension to the hotel's North Tower with a two-story, all-glass rooftop addition with nine ultra-luxury one- and two-bedroom suites complete with private rooftop gardens, outdoor spa pools and sweeping ocean views.

Designed in the late 1930's by architect titan and pioneer of Miami Beach Art Deco Roy France, The Versailles Hotel will be reimaged as a luxury residential condo tower in the heart of the rising Faena District. Working with interior Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, NBWW will lead the new vision for the 12-story structure, which will include a grand lobby and 22 custom luxury residences.

The structure's last renovation in the 1950s did not honor its historical significance and masked the property's defining elements. In order to restore the building to its original glory, the firm will remove all non-contributing additions to its exterior and reinstate the property's renowned Art Deco design. That means restoring original plaster ceilings, rich fluted pilasters, stone columns and glass corner windows to offer more natural light, creating the intended open-air ambiance that Roy originally envisioned.
