MIAMI—Altman Companies just sold four of its Altis-branded multifamily developments for $223 million. The apartment complexes—three of which are in South Florida and one in Tampa, FL—sold to four different buyers.

All told, the multifamily assets include 1,094 units in stabilized assets. Each multifamily community offers one-, two- and three-bedroom garden apartments in suburban neighborhoods that boast consistent rent growth and strong absorption.

“The multifamily market remains strong and we expect another great year in 2015,” says Joel Altman, chairman of Altman. The firm has 1,229 multifamily units under construction in Florida and another 1,292 units in the pipeline for 2015 starts.

In terms of the multifamily sales, AVR Realty acquired the 300-unit Altis Sheridan Village in Pembroke Pines, FL. Altman began construction of the multifamily community in 2013 and finished in the fourth quarter of 2014.

A joint venture between Clarion Partners and a major insurance company acquired the 270-unit Altis Coconut Creek. The multifamily community is located at 5401 Wiles Road in Coconut Creek, FL. Greystar Partners snapped up Altis Cypress Creek. It was built in 2009 and has 220 multifamily units in North Lauderdale, FL.

Further north, Starlight Capital acquired Altis Grand Cypress, a 304-unit multifamily development in Lutz, FL. Phase 1 was completed in 2012. Phase 2 was completed in 2014. All four multifamily properties are class A and highly amenitized.

This year, Altman will complete three new developments in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando. Leasing is underway for each multifamily property.

In the Tampa area, Altman is building Altis at Highland Park in the Westchase submarket. In South Florida, Altis at Kendall Square in Miami is a mixed-use, garden-style community with 321 luxury apartment homes ranging from studios to three-bedroom units near the growing West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Finally, Altis at Sand Lake in Orlando's Dr. Phillips submarket and will open spring of this year. It features 315 multifamily homes in a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans.
