PORTLAND, OR—In one of the largest office deals in Portland of 2014, CLEAResult, an energy management consulting firm, has leased 101,848 square feet of class A office space located in the 1st & Main building.

Kevin Joshi, a senior vice president with Kidder Mathews, represented CLEAResults in their negotiations with the landlord, American Assets Trust.

Based in Austin, TX, CLEAResult's expansion to Portland mirrors other large, out-of-area companies. This transaction reaffirms interest by companies headquartered outside of Portland to locate and grow a substantial office presence in Portland's downtown submarket.

"Companies value Portland, not only for its labor pool and relatively low cost of doing business, but for the high quality of life and vibrant atmosphere," said Joshi. "We expect more companies outside of Portland to continue this trend."

CLEAResult provides energy programs to schools, governments, businesses, and homeowners. Its three main goals are to improve the environment, make energy more affordable, and general health and safety for their clients. The decision to open a new office in Portland, demonstrates growth in sustainability companies in the area.

Kidder Mathews' West Coast presence includes more than 450 real estate professionals and staff in 10 offices in Washington, Oregon, and California.
