IRVINE, CA—The Rockefeller Group says that veteran property development and asset management professional James Camp has joined the company as senior vice president and regional development officer for the western region. Camp, who has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial property development, was previously vice president of Starwood CPG Operations.  He succeeds Tom McCormick, who has been appointed senior vice president, national corporate accounts, a new position.

Camp will head Rockefeller Group's western region operations, based in Irvine.  The firm has an ownership interest in more than 1.5 million square feet of office, industrial and retail property in the region, along with 254 luxury residential units, and various projects planned or underway totaling more than 6 million square feet across four states.  In addition to overseeing the company's strategy and operations for the region, Camp will lead the company's acquisition and development efforts focusing primarily on office and industrial opportunities and joint ventures.

Prior to his most recent position, Camp was an executive vice president of Greenlaw Partners, where he managed a 4-million-square-foot commercial real estate portfolio, as well as development projects, and oversaw acquisitions, leasing and dispositions.  Before that, he was a senior vice president and portfolio manager of Voit Real Estate Services, and senior vice president of development and acquisitions for Voit Development Company

At Voit, among his various leadership responsibilities, Camp oversaw a team of project management professionals responsible for third-party asset services, as well as Voit's operating properties and development projects throughout the Western United States.  He also acquired and developed a portfolio of 11 industrial and office projects valued at more than $350 million.  Throughout his career, Camp has also held senior acquisitions roles, project management and leasing positions with Lowe Enterprises Commercial Group, Koll Cornerstone, Burke Commercial Development and Trammell Crow Company.

He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in marketing, finance and real estate, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.  He is active in industry and civic organizations, including the Southern California Chapter of NAIOP, as well as the NAIOP California State Council, where he is the president and chair.  He is a board member of the California Business Properties Association, and the March Economic Partnership, and a development member of the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors. Mr. Camp is a former treasurer and board member of the Commercial Industrial Development Association, and past board member of the Riverside County Economic Development Corporation.
