AUSTIN--Longbow Real Estate Group, a new firm formed by local brokers Nick Nelson and Jim Young, has made its first lease announcement.

According to the Austin-based firm, Apogee, a provider of on-campus residential networks, will expand its corporate headquarters by 5,846 square feet and PC Genie will relocate at University Towers.

"Since our leasing team replaced one of the large national real estate brokerages on the site, we have leased spaced that have not been leased in 10 years by using our cutting-edge marketing techniques," Nelson told GlobeSt.com. "This expansion was complicated because it involved multiple existing tenant's spaces. Our lead leasing agent, Hampton Friedman, is working with the construction team at Cardinal Group to bifurcate the last remaining vacancy space into two spaces.

"The new configuration of the last space will offer 975 square feet as ground-floor retail and the 2,257 square feet in the second floor will be converted to office space."

Nelson, Young and Friedman of Longbow represented the landlord, a student housing investment firm based in Denver. Nathan Smith and Steven Gillespie of Austin Tenant Advisors represented the tenants.

"It was a team effort by all parties that really moved this deal forward,” says Nelson. “Apogee needed to expand the footprint of their corporate headquarters beyond 15,000 square feet to support growth of the company, and PC Genie wanted a more attractive retail front."
