NEW YORK CITY—Cushman & Wakefield posted record 12-month revenues of $2.849 billion for the year that ended Dec. 31, 2014, the company said Thursday. The global services firm said its adjusted net income also hit a new high watermark, increasing 33.3% year-over-year to $61.6 million, compared with the prior year of $46.2 million.
The past year saw C&W set other companywide records. Adjusted EBITDA increased 21% to a record $175.4 million, while the value of leasing transaction volumes increased 15.6% to a new high of $63.9 billion, according to C&W. This in turn drove commission and service fee revenue to a record $2.1 billion, up 15.9% Y-O-Y. And as previously reported on GlobeSt.com, C&W's Valuation & Advisory platform completed appraisals worth a record $1.2 trillion during the year.
“Our collaboration across geographies and services resulted in record revenue and profitability, which solidifies our position as a top tier global real estate services firm,” says president and CEO Edward C. Forst. “This performance was driven by a 42% increase in Corporate Occupier & Investor Services commission and service fee revenue, record leasing transaction volumes and completed appraisals with a value exceeding $1 trillion for the third year in a row.”
Along the firm's “record financial performance,” Forst says, “the strategically targeted acquisition of Massey Knakal, strengthening our team with key leadership appointments, a new global management committee and the robust economic landscape have emboldened us to further accelerate our ambitious strategic plan.”
Confirming published reports, C&W said Thursday that the board of directors of C&W Group Inc. had designated a strategic review committee, chaired by Forst, to oversee a review of potential strategic alternatives. The company has retained Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as financial advisors to assist with the strategic review process. “There can be no assurance that the review of potential strategic alternatives will result in any transaction,” the company says.
