CHICAGO—Tishman Realty Corp. plans to keep expanding in Chicago and to facilitate that growth it has hired Jason Blum as a Chicago-based vice president of development. Blum has more than 15 years of development experience and will execute Tishman's development and acquisition strategy here. This will include the management of the newly acquired Amalgamated Bank Building at 100-112 S. State St. The company plans to reposition it into a flagship retail property. He will also seek out new development projects throughout the market.

“We are committed to continuing to build our Chicago portfolio and presence and Jason Blum will play a key role in that growth,” says David Rothenberg, president of Tishman. “Jason has the experience, drive and local knowledge to help lead our efforts in this market.”

“I am honored to join Tishman's impressive group of real estate professionals as they continue to expand their presence here in Chicago,” says Blum. “Tishman is a legendary name in real estate, and I am thrilled to be part of their team and working on all of the exciting things they have going on in this market.”

Prior to joining Tishman, Blum formed his own firm, Laurus Development and Investment LLC, which developed retail properties and acquired other properties for investment. And for nine years, he was a principal at Interra Development Partners which developed Walgreens stores and other credit tenant retail projects in Chicago and Southern California.

Bradford Allen has also made a recent change. The company just hired 20-year veteran Matthew Alexander as its managing director. He joined the firm's tenant representation practice and will focus on expanding his portfolio of clients on a local, regional and national basis.

“Matt's tenant representation background in national real estate along with his in-depth knowledge and expertise of Chicagoland are invaluable to his clients,” says Laurence Elbaum, one of the firm's principals and co-founders. “He understands the nuances of our industry and will be an important addition to the Bradford Allen team.”
