DALLAS--Castle Hills Marketplace, a 400,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by Kroger Marketplace and developed by Cencor Realty Services, is nearing completion of its first phase.

Located at the southwest corner of SH-121 and Josey Lane in Lewisville, the center will feature a 123,000-square-foot Kroger that will offer, among other things, furniture, housewares, alongside traditional grocery items. The store is scheduled to open this Friday.

“We are finalizing negotiations with some key concepts for the remaining in-line spaces at Castle Hills Marketplace, which is putting us on track to open the first phase fully leased this summer,” Steve Gray, The Weitzman Group senior vice president and director of Cencor Leasing, told GlobeSt.com.

Other tenants lined up for the property include Chili's, Zoe's Kitchen, Pollo Tropical and Orangetheory Fitness.

David Palmer, executive vice president in charge of development for Cencor, directed the project, which is leased by The Weitzman Group's Michelle Caplan and Gray.

The Castle Hills project is one of several that Cencor and Kroger have worked on together.

“Cencor and Kroger have a long history of working to create leading community retail centers, including Windhaven Plaza and Legacy Drive Village in Plano, Flower Mound Town Center and several key retail projects in the Houston area,” Palmer says.

Gray pinpoints the asset's location as a desirable draw.

“The success of this project is due to the location, the powerful draw of Kroger Marketplace, and a retail district that continues to boom thanks to residential growth and, of course, the presence of the nearby [newly opened] Nebraska Furniture Mart,” he said.
