AUSTIN—New York City-based Sackman Enterprises is making its first foray into the Austin market, planning a 35-story mixed-use luxury condo project called SEVENTY RAINEY, to be located in the Rainey Street district, southeast of downtown.
"This is Sackman's first expansion outside the northeast in our 45-year history,” C.J. Sackman, local director of development for Sackman Enterprises, told GlobeSt.com. “The move here was intentional; Austin is a vibrant, creative city with endless opportunities. With SEVENTY RAINEY, we have sought to incorporate many of the unique characteristics of the Rainey Street district and reflect Austin community values."
The development will feature approximately 160 living units and a two-story restaurant with patio bar to serve residents and the public.
Additionally, Sackman plans to “offer some pretty incredible amenities at SEVENTY RAINEY.”
Among the building's features: a 19,000-square-foot outdoor amenity deck, infinity-edge pool and waterfall, experiential sundeck and outdoor lounge with kitchen, a virtual golf course, gym and outdoor yoga deck, and access to Lady Bird Lake and the Butler Hike and Bike Trail.
With groundbreaking scheduled for this fall, the project is slated to deliver in late 2017.
“I am proud of the local team we have assembled to deliver on our vision for SEVENTY RAINEY,” said Sackman. “This team is deeply experienced and has a proven track record of success. It also reflects the premium we place on creativity, innovation, dramatic architecture and flawless execution.”
“We plan to be in Austin for years to come, so it's important we get it right.”
