NEWARK, NJ–C&K Properties has signed Standard Chartered Bank to a 14,000-square-foot lease expansion at Two Gateway Center, C&K's class A office building in the heart of downtown Newark. Standard Chartered Bank now accounts for more than 72,000 square feet at Two Gateway.
“Since Standard Chartered moved into Two Gateway, the company has continued to strengthen its presence here in New Jersey,” says Ben Korman, co-founder and principal of C&K Properties. “This building provides a logical space to grow the company, offering seamless access both to Manhattan and to its New Jersey workforce, all supported by its best-in-class technological infrastructure.”
Standard Chartered employs over 400 employees throughout Newark alone, having expanded their footprint in Two Gateway as recently as 2011. The bank initially elected to expand its operations into Newark in 2008, citing the city's status as a major transportation hub and accessibility to its growing New Jersey workforce.
Headquartered in London, Standard Chartered provides services for consumer, corporate, and institutional banking in addition to treasury services. The company's global network of bank spans over 70 countries, employing approximately 90,000 worldwide.
Recently, Two Gateway achieved WiredScore's first Platinum certification in the state of New Jersey. A Platinum certification guarantees choices when selecting an Internet service provider, full distribution of fiber connectivity throughout the building, best in class infrastructure to ensure protection against service interruptions, and administrative best practices to streamline tenants' ability to get connected.
