NEW YORK CITY—Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. says Mark Aloia has joined the firm as a member, and will work alongside the other 30 attorneys within its expanding Transactional Law group. He will represent clients in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions and financing.

Aloia is an experienced, attorney who has handled and managed a diverse group of transactions both in New York and nationally involving all property types, including office leases, retail leases, sales and acquisitions, and loans, the firm notes.

“Mark Aloia has a depth of experience in commercial real estate transactional law that will serve as a tremendous asset to Rosenberg & Estis,” said Luise Barrack, managing member of the firm. “He has a unique ability to surmount the complex legal issues surrounding all types of real estate transactions, from leases to acquisitions to multimillion-dollar financings.”

Rosenberg & Estis, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, continues to grow both in size and in the breadth of work it handles. The real estate boutique law firm has steadily expanded its roster from 45 attorneys in 2010 to more than 70 today. It has also increased its presence in New York's development arena, helping clients to move forward with complex projects or new developments in challenging markets.

Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, Aloia served as business unit general counsel and vice president with Aegon USA Realty Advisors LLC, the real estate asset manager of global insurance company Aegon/Transamerica. He was the company's lead U.S. equity real estate attorney for nearly 20 years, supervising and managing the purchase, sale, development, leasing and operation of a large national portfolio that included major office buildings as well as distressed assets and loans. Aloia also helped form the company's New York lending office and handled and managed loan transactions closed in the eastern region.

Aloia received a bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University and his juris doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in New York and before the United States District Court for both the southern district and the eastern district of New York.
