MIAMI— In the new wave of condo development, we're seeing some interesting twists. One developer is looking to push Hollywood to South Beach entertainment status.
This one developer might not be as far off as it first sounds. Trump has built in Hollywood and a new Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is under construction here. Supermodel Amber Arbucci joined longtime friend and South Beach pioneer Michael Capponi and developer Moses Bensusan in Miami Beach to cohost the debut party for the Costa Hollywood condo resort in before the project broke ground.
Moses Bensusan is the visionary behind Costa Hollywood. Liberty Grand broke ground on the development in July 2013. The condo is slated for completion by Spring 2015.
Buyers can select from seven floor plans available in studios or one- and two- bedrooms, ranging from 400 to 1,500 square feet strategically positioned next to Hollywood Beach Village, an upscale outdoor retail and dining district complete with boutique shops, fine restaurants, and a holistic day spa. Units price from $220,000 to $800,000.
GlobeSt.com: Why Hollywood?
Bensusan: Hollywood, Florida is one the touristic places with one of the top rated beaches in Florida for its beautiful boardwalk—named one of America's Best Beach Boardwalks—that runs on two and half miles with many restaurants of different kinds without ocean view obstruction. Hollywood, is also located at the narrowest point where the intracoastal and the ocean meet, you can dock your boat on the intracoastal and be at 30 steps from the beach of Hollywood.
Hollywood is very well located. It sits at the center of south Florida's most touristic areas, making it a prime location at only about 15 minutes of major entertaining areas, fine dining, shopping malls, casinos, Port Everglades, and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
GlobeSt.com: How will Melia Costa Hollywood Beach Resort transform the Hollywood Boardwalk?
Bensusan: Hollywood beach, is not only attracting locals but we are currently seeing a trend with a wide population that is more and more attracting residents and tourists coming from Sunny Isles, Aventura, Hallandale and as well Miami Beach.
GlobeSt.com: You've said this is the next "South Beach entertainment zone.” What qualifies Hollywood for that high mark?
Bensusan: With five top restaurants, rooftop patio, shops and great nightlife with ambassador of nightlife Michael Capponi, Melia Costa Hollywood will definitely be the next South Beach destination. With its unique Luxurious European Design, it is definitely very different to the hotels and condos currently seen in Hollywood. The current product has a more standard look. Our project will attract an upscale clientele looking to enjoy a five-star class service.
