NEW YORK CITY—With net lease as one its four core business lines, iStar Financial finds that all four “work very well together,” says Barclay G. Jones III, EVP of investments. “It gives us a continual presence in a lot of markets. We have a good view of which markets are strong, and which are growing.”

As part of its net lease presence, which it's seeking to grow, iStar has gotten involved with some interesting property types. “We tend to view real estate in the broadest sense of the word,” Jones says in this EXCLUSIVE interview at RealShare Net Lease. “We look at facilities that make good economic sense and provide good rent coverage. So we've looked at the world with a pretty open view.”
