DALLAS--Trademark Property Co. is rebranding Uptown Village at Cedar Hill.

The 610,000-square-foot shopping center in southwest Dallas will now be known as Hillside Village. The new name and corresponding new brand were selected to reflect the garden-like look and feel, planned as part of a multi-million dollar property renovation to attract a broader trade area, and to pay homage to the community in which it lies.

“Rebranding this property is a crucial step in our redevelopment efforts at Hillside Village as it sets the tone for the property's image moving forward,” Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark Property Co., told GlobeSt.com. “Along with the new name, the significant enhancements we're making as part of the renovation efforts and a VIP approach to customer service will allow us to provide an even better experience for our customers and enable us to continue to attract more new tenants moving forward.”

Planned improvements to Hillside Village include enhanced entrances, public spaces and vehicular access; upgraded landscaping; facade improvements; a new children's play area; new amenities for adults and children; and new signage throughout the property.

After acquiring an interest in the shopping center last summer, Trademark conducted extensive research with Alexander Babbage to gather key information about the center's shoppers including demographics, trade area and most importantly, what customers wanted at the property. Following the research, Trademark conducted an onsite design charrette last fall with numerous architects, place makers, the City of Cedar Hill and the onsite management team to collaborate and formulate a strategic plan and direction for the property. Trademark plans to evolve the property and give the community a best-in-class shop, dine, work and play experience.

“Our planned improvements to the shopping center are driving significant leasing interest. We recently announced H&M is coming to Hillside Village, and we're in negotiations with several local and national retailers as potential tenants,” says Maranda Auzenne, general manager of Hillside Village. “Trademark is known for revitalizing shopping centers and enhancing the community with a better experience. I know our core customers will be thrilled with the improvements, and we'll attract new shoppers who will want to stay and enjoy all the amenities Hillside Village will have to offer.”

Hillside Village currently includes 350,000 square feet of specialty stores and restaurants. Anchor retailers are Barnes & Noble, Dillard's and Dick's Sporting Goods, and there is 31,000 square feet of office space. The center has more than 65 tenants including Charming Charlie, Chico's, Hollister, James Avery, Old Navy, Papaya, The Children's Place and Victoria's Secret.
