NEWPORT BEACH, CA—More than 800 commercial real estate professionals attended Encore for Education, a CRE charity concert sponsored in part by GlobeSt.com that raised $200,000 to benefit Buchanan Children's Charities and the Orange County Community Foundation's Music Matters initiative. The concert, held April 30 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA, featured a live performance by the band Third Eye Blind.

According to Robert Brunswick, president of Buchanan Children's Charities and CEO of Buchanan Street Partners, “We are thrilled with the success of the event and our ability to empower children and young adults by bringing music programs back into underfunded Orange County public schools.”

The Music Matters program was created from the partnership between BCC and the OCCF with the objective to revitalize the music programs in the Orange County schools. Additionally, this is the fourth Encore for Education concert event that has been produced since 2007, raising a total of $570,000 for the local music and arts programs.

Funds raised during the event will support arts education across 16 school districts in Orange County, impacting 160,720 students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Furthermore, 3,786 teachers will gain access to professional development tools to improve their dance, theatre, visual arts and media arts programs.
