TYSONS, VA—Word of mouth is usually sufficient to get the news out about available parking in the District and nearby urban submarkets. Washington REIT, though, apparently isn't taking any chances.

The company has just completed a $35 million external and internal renovation of the 526,000 square foot office complex at 7900 Westpark Dr. The building is offering, per an agreement with Fairfax County last fall, 100 parking spaces in its underground garage to Metro commuters.

Washington REIT really wants the public to know about these parking spaces -- at least judging by the advertising it is doing. The building, called Silverline Center, is illuminating its facade with a giant silver "P" this week to spread the word about the parking spaces to Metro Silver Line commuters.
