HOUSTON--U.S. Silica Co. is taking a lease of 17,464 square feet at the new class A Katy Ranch Phase I office building located at 24275 Katy Freeway in Katy.

Kurt Kistler and Griffin Jaggard of Moody Rambin represented the building owner Katy Ranch Offices LP in the transaction. Don Foster with Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Inc. represented the tenant in negotiations.

“Katy, Texas, has longed for a top-notch class A office building, and Katy Ranch office building is now fulfilling the tenant demand,” Jaggard, vice president of office services at Moody Rambin, told GlobeSt.com.

Katy Ranch Phase I began construction early 2014 and is expected to deliver at the end of this month. The property is part of Katy Ranch Crossing, a 2 million-square-foot mixed-use development located along I-10, just outside the Grand Parkway (Highway 99). The first floor of the six-story building is leased with 131,888 square feet remaining available.

“U.S. Silica Co. will substantively add to the vitality, diversity and enrichment of Katy's economy and community,” says Lance LaCour, president and CEO of the Katy Area Economic Development Council. “Katy continues to offer one of the most dynamic and business-friendly environments in our region, and these new office openings and the jobs they will bring to the Katy area are further confirmation of this success.”
