COLUMBIA, MD—The Howard Hughes Corp. has signed on several retail and restaurant leases for the public promenade at The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia, a new 380-unit luxury apartment community located on Town Center Avenue.

The promenade is a one-acre park alongside the residential community that includes shops and restaurants, an interactive playground, art sculptures and outdoor seating. The new retail tenants will include Corner Bakery Café, MOD Pizza, Floyd's 99 Barbershop, European Wax Center and Village Nails Bar.

The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia, developed by both Howard Hughes Corp. and Kettler, is the first new building delivered under the company's 30-year vision for the build out of 13 million square feet in Downtown Columbia. When completed, it will feature 5,500 residences, 640 hotel rooms, over four million square feet of office and medical space, more than one million square feet of retail and restaurant space and over 20 acres of park, civic and cultural space.

Howard Hughes Corp. also recently renovated the historic Rouse Building into a flagship Whole Foods Market and a 27,000 square-foot luxury spa and wellness center. It has also begun a multi-stage renovation of Merriweather Post Pavilion.
