LEASES
MARLTON, NJ—NAI Mertz leased 3,600 square feet of retail space at Marlton Square Shopping Center to Cherry Hill Martial Arts. Fred Meyer, SIOR, director of corporate services, and Jonathan Klear, vice president, negotiated the transaction on behalf of ownership. Cherry Hill Martial Arts is relocating to Marlton Square Shopping Center from a nearby location. Located at 701 Route 70 at the intersection of Cropwell Road, Marlton Square Shopping Center is a 40,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail plaza anchored by Staples. Cherry Hill Martial Arts will be joining a barber shop and a gift shop in the plaza, which is adjacent to a newly constructed Aldi's, as well as a 7-Eleven and Valero gas station. The plaza is currently 79 percent leased with retail space available from 1,800 square feet.
PRINCETON, NJ—Colliers International has arranged a long-term, 9,200-square-foot lease for Ripen eCommerce at 21 Roszel Road, located in Roszel Square in Princeton, NJ. It is the second major new lease at 21 Roszel Road, Princeton's newest office building. Ripen eCommerce is more than tripling the size of its office space, with plans to occupy the first floor of the three-story, 62,500-square-foot, class A office building in the fourth quarter of 2015. “Ripen eCommerce is an established New Jersey company that had outgrown its current location and was looking for a new property in Princeton,” says Kevin Coleman, Director at Colliers International, who represented the tenant in the transaction. This is the third lease he has arranged on behalf of the tenant since 2009. “I'm happy to have helped the agency quintuple their space over the course of six years." The building is owned as a joint venture between Gottesman Partners and Mountain Development.

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ—Rick Marchisio, president, Lee & Associates, NJ and Crista Bartolomeo, assistant vice president, received the 2015 Industrial Deal of the Year Award from the New Jersey chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, for their outstanding work on the 2014 lease transaction on behalf of Wenner Bread's historic relocation from Long Island to New Brunswick. In late 2014, they negotiated a long-term lease for this 58-year old Long Island, New York company in its move to a 301,626-square foot manufacturing facility at 571 Jersey Avenue in New Brunswick.
JERSEY CITY, NJ—DeSimone, a New York structural engineering firm says 70 Columbus in Jersey City, NJ, was selected by The New Jersey Concrete Awards Committee to receive the organization's 2015 Merit Award in the High Rise Category. The 50-story tower at 70 Columbus is one of two residential towers recently completed by DeSimone's New York office as part of the Columbus Towers project. Columbus Towers stands 530 feet tall and includes 610,000 square feet of residential and retail space. The project is the second part of a four-phase development project by Ironstate Development at the site along Christopher Columbus Boulevard in Jersey City.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ—Approximately 250 supporters of Brooklyn College, including foundation members, donors, students and administrators, joined family and friends to honor alumnus Edwin Cohen ('62), a principal partner with Prism Capital Partners, Bloomfield, NJ, for his work on behalf of Brooklyn College at its 2015 Best of Brooklyn Award Gala in May.
