LOS ANGELES—Thorofare Capital and DoubleLine Capital have formed a strategic partnership to focus on bridge lending. Under the partnership, Thorofare will originate, underwrite and service middle-market commercial real estate bridge loans for DoubleLine Opportunistic CRE Debt Strategy clients.

“This was an opportunity to work alongside a world-class bond manager and continue the institutionalization of our company and our quest of capturing market share,” Kevin Miller, CEO of Thorofare Capital, tells GlobeSt.com. “DoubleLine's strategy also complimented our existing private lending vehicles, which typically provide shorter term higher rate financing than the longer term loans DoubleLine is buying.”

The new program will fund senior debt loans ranging in value from $5 million to $20 million. The loans will have a term between two and five years, and will be for the acquisition and refinance of all commercial property types, including multifamily, office, industrial, retail and hotels. “The goal of the partnership is to originate as much high-quality bridge loan product as possible,” Brendan Miller, co-president and CIO at Thorofare Capital, tells GlobeSt.com. “[We will] create a dynamic and long term relationship that can control the investment process from origination through capital markets execution, while being able to competitively originate high volumes of new bridge product.”
