FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—MacAdam Glinn just reached new heights at Skanska USA. The company, which is among Florida's largest construction and development firms with offices across the state, promoted Glinn to account manager and senior vice president of its South Florida office.
MacAdam takes on the task of managing Skanska's growth and strengthening its operational performance in the region. In collaboration with fellow Florida senior vice presidents/account managers Matt Gilbert and Roger Stephan, he will support Skanska's client relationships and build new business opportunities in the South Florida.
“MacAdam has the depth of client experience and local market knowledge that makes him the ideal candidate for this important role,” says Fred Hames, general manager and executive vice president of Skanska USA Building. “His diverse experience in government and construction aligns well with the market sectors that we are targeting for growth in Florida, which include healthcare, higher education, commercial mixed-use, government and aviation.”
MacAdam has served as part of Skanska's Aviation Center of Excellence (COE) executive leadership team for the past four years. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and national aviation director for Skanska, leading Skanska's aviation construction efforts in North America. Going forward, he will continue to support Skanska's Aviation COE.
“It is a very exciting time for me personally to re-engage in the South Florida market and construction industry,” MacAdam tells GlobeSt.com. “There are incredible opportunities over the next six to 12 months in the markets where Skanska is strongest, including aviation, healthcare, higher education, institutional and mixed-use commercial construction.”
MacAdam is no stranger to the South Florida construction scene. He helped launch Skanska's South Florida office over 10 years ago. Before rejoining the firm, he served as senior manager for major projects at Parsons Corporation. He also served as a procurement and governmental attorney for both public and private clients at law firm Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L. in South Florida.
“While the residential market may be cooling down, that is less of a concern because we are highly selective about those projects and the clients we work with on them,” says MacAdam. “I am very bullish on Skanska's future in South Florida, as we continue to build the most complex projects for the most demanding clients, just as we have for the last 15 years.”
