HOUSTON--Transwestern has hired Sarah Carter as vice president of the firm's dedicated Healthcare Advisory Services team. Carter will represent healthcare clients in Houston and spearhead initiatives for the Life Sciences Advisory team.

“The life sciences industry in Houston is emerging as a commercial real estate niche that requires creative thinking and in-depth market and industry expertise,” Carter told GlobeSt.com. “The convergence of organizations that specialize in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, coupled with the research and collaboration at the Texas Medical Center, positions Houston to capitalize on its global reputation as a healthcare innovator and develop critical solutions for health issues."

Carter joins the firm from CBRE in Dallas, where she served as a transaction manager on the Baylor Scott & White Health account. Carter provided leasing services for the 15.1 million-square-foot portfolio and completed more than 150 transactions.

“Sarah's extensive real estate background in the healthcare industry will further Transwestern's goal to positively impact our clients in a meaningful way,” said Eric Johnson, Transwestern's National Healthcare director, in a release. “Her experience with the Baylor Scott & White Health system will be invaluable as Transwestern continues to expand its services within the sector.”

Carter is eager to contribute her skills at the Houston-based firm.

“Transwestern is uniquely positioned to leverage its national Healthcare and Life Sciences Advisory Groups to deliver exceptional results for our clients,” she says.
