HOUSTON—DTZ is providing tenant services for Tristar Glass Inc.'s new custom-built industrial manufacturing facility in Houston. The building is the cornerstone and first development of the IAH Business Park, and is expected to bring multiple jobs to the Houston area.
Tristar Glass, a glass fabrication company, required a custom-built facility to accommodate the dimensions of its cranes, as well as a building that supported heavy power for its electric furnaces.
“The new Tristar Glass facility is more than ready to meet the architectural commercial market's most stringent quality demands,” Tim Kelley, Tristar Glass president, told GlobeSt.com. “It is equipped with the new Glaston FC500 furnace, which not only features state-of-the art convection technology, but is the largest of its kind in the United States."
Building the facility wasn't the first option.
“We looked at multiple existing facilities and spent time trying to reconfigure layouts in order to meet Tristar's specific needs,” said DTZ's David Eseke, associate vice president. “However, the idea of a brand new, state-of-the-art industrial building was appealing to Tristar, and the Levey Group showed their class in the ability to deliver this project.”
Tristar Glass' new 65,000-square-foot facility, located at 19522 Aldine Westfield Road, features 28-foot ceilings with nearly 2,000 amps of power.
