HOUSTON--Skanska USA has promoted Tony Destefano to senior director and human resources hub leader for the central United States region, and it also has hired Cliff Haehl as vice president of business development for Texas.

“Part of Skanska's success in Texas is due to Tony's hands-on leadership style in human resources,” Brian Freeman, Skanska executive vice president and general manager of Texas, told GlobeSt.com. “Tony works closely with our teams to find the right people at the right time. A great example of that is the addition of Cliff Haehl. Cliff has three decades of experience in Houston and we're excited to see him lead our Texas business to a new level.”

Destefano joined Skanska in 2006 and has played an key role in strengthening the company's HR service delivery capabilities and supporting key initiatives, such as the college recruiting taskforce, national recruitment task team, the high school road show and the new-hire orientation team.

In Destefano's role as senior director and HR Hub leader, he will serve on the HR/communications leadership team with geographic HR responsibility for Texas, Indiana, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Haehl joins Skanska with more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry across Texas. He has worked with both public and private clients in a wide range of industries including commercial, healthcare, higher education, aviation and hospitality. 

In his new role as vice president of business development, Haehl is responsible for leading Skanska's sales strategy to secure business opportunities with new and existing clients, while reinforcing Skanska's reputation for being an industry leader.
