BOSTON—If real estate brokerage firms were like baseball teams, you would need a scorecard and a pencil with a very good eraser to keep track of the major players that recently became free agents and joined new teams.

The latest defections to come to light involve the CBRE/New England Capital Markets retail team headed by Chris Angelone who has joined JLL's Capital Markets division as managing director, along with Bill Moylan, who is also joining JLL's Capital Markets team as a managing director. Rounding out the latest CBRE/NE Capital Markets defections is Nat Heald who is joining the firm as an executive vice president.

Angelone will co-lead JLL's New England Capital Markets platform with managing director Frank Petz, who tells Globest.com that Angelone, Moylan and Heald will firmly establish the brokerage's retail investment sales platform. They also bring office and industrial expertise with a focus on urban, mixed-use properties and portfolios.

The former CBRE/New England Capital Markets team was directly involved with nearly $11 billion in transactions, including a track record in shopping center sales for both national and international clients, Petz says.

In addition, JLL officials report that Jessica Dowd and John Meador, both formerly with CBRE/NE Capital Markets, are joining JLL's Capital Markets as vice presidents. The new group, including a number of other associates, will also work closely with JLL's Jessica Hughes on office and industrial; Travis D'Amato and Michael Coyne on multifamily; and Heather Brown and Jon Schneider on debt and equity sourcing.

JLL's Petz says that the firm's Capital Markets division has expanded significantly in the past four years. The new hires will firmly establish a capital markets group in the retail arena in greater Boston and the surrounding New England marketplace. He says that JLL will continue to look to expand its Capital Markets team in a host of real estate finance sectors.

Last Friday, CBRE/New England reported that David J. Pergola and Brian Doherty joined the firm's Capital Markets team. Pergola will serve as an executive vice president/partner and Doherty as a senior vice president/partner. The two new hires that led the DTZ New England Capital Markets group will focus on office and industrial investment sales at CBRE.

Pergola has more than 20 years of experience in the greater Boston commercial real estate industry. Prior to joining DTZ, he led Cushman & Wakefield's middle market investment sales group in Boston. Previously, he was a partner at Meredith & Grew (Colliers International). Doherty joined DTZ in 2012 after serving as a director at Cushman & Wakefield for more than 10 years.

If that amount of brokerage firm jumping is not enough comes news that Carlos Febres-Mazzei, formerly with CBRE/NE's capital markets team, has joined Eastdil Secured's Boston office, according to a report in the Boston Business Journal.
